RRB Group D Recruitment 2018 Vacancy for 60000 posts – Online Test will be conducted by Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). Exam Date & Admit Card downloading dates have not been disclosed yet. Railway Recruitment Boards will conduct recruitment examination in various RRB Zones for the Group-D posts of Level-1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix on different dates in 2018. The board on behalf of Ministry of Railways, issued an employment notification no. CEN 02/2018 on 9th February 2018. According to the notification the vacancies for Group-D posts Level-1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix will be filled through 3 stage selection process. Group-D posts in Level-1 of 7 Pay Matrix will be recruited in Indian Railway through Railway Recruitment Board. The details of the post are the following –
Gang man, Switchman, Trackman, Cabinman, Leverman, Pointsman, Helper-II (Elect), Gr. ‘D’ (Store), Keyman, Shunter,Welder, Fitter, Porter, Helper-II (Mech), Helper-II(S&T), Gr. ‘D’ (Engg.).

There are total 62,907 nos. of vacant Group-D posts to be filled up by the Railway Recruitment Board of India. Category wise total number of vacancies are mentioned below –

Educational Qualification Requirement
The candidates must possess 10th standard certificate / ITI certificate from recognised institute or passed 10th standard examination and has the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Age limit for Railway Gr D posts
The candidates must be aged between 18 years to 31 years to apply for the Group-D posts. Though the reserved category candidates and Railway Group C & D staff serving with minimum will get additional age relaxation. Category based details of age relaxation is provided below –
- SC / ST – 5 years
- OBC – 3 years
- Railway Staff (Served for 3 years in Group C & D posts)– 10 years
- PWD (General) – 10 years
- PWD (SC/ST) – 15 years
- PWD (OBC) – 13 years
- Ex-Servicemen – 3 years

How to apply for the Railway Recruitment Board Vacancy 2018
At first the interested candidates must check their eligibility from the website. Then they can register themselves using the web link of Railway Recruitment Board. After filling up the online form carefully, the application fee must be paid. Either using credit / debit card the fees can be paid or it can be paid offline too. The last date of paying the fees whether online or offline is the same. No documents are needed to be attached along with the application at the time of submission.

Selection Process of Group D in RRB
The Railway Recruitment Board of India will select the apt candidates for the Group D Level-1 posts of 7th CPC Pay Matrix on the basis of following –
- Performance of the candidates in the Computer Based Test (CBT)
- As well as Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
The contenders obtaining good score in the CBT will be shortlisted for PET.
There will be negative marking in CBT. For every wrong answer, 1/3 marks will be deducted.
Then the candidates getting successful in PET has to appear for the Verification of their Documents. Remaining absent on that day or being unable to produce valid documents before the recruitment authority on the day or the candidates found of providing with false information in their online application form, will be terminated from the process of recruitment.
The male and female candidates have to perform the following to be shortlisted in the PET round –
(i) A male aspirer must lift 35 kg of weight and carry the same for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes without putting the weight down. There will be only a single chance provided to each of the candidates.
(ii) The candidate must run 1000 metre distance in 4 minutes and 15 seconds. In this round too only one chance will be given.
(i) A Female candidate must be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes without putting down the weight anytime during the entire racing process. In this case too solo chance will be provided to the aspirant.
(ii) The candidates must run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in a single attempt.
Syllabus & Pattern of CBT Online Test for Railway Group D Posts
The Computer Based Test will comprise questions on Mathematics, General Science and General Intelligence & Reasoning. This test will bear 100 marks and held for the duration of 90 minutes. Total 100 Multiple Choice Questions will be given and each question will near 1 mark. Candidates need to qualify the exam by obtaining the specified cut off marks.
Medical Standard :
Each and every candidates must ensure that they must satisfy the prescribed medical standards for RRB Group D vacancy 2018. For each post separate medical standard is applicable.
RRB Group D Admit Card 2018
The Admit card for CBT can be downloaded from the official website of Railway Recruitment Board, 10 days prior to the commencement of the examination. All the candidates need to download their admit cards and take a print of the same. It must be carried to the examination hall on the day of the test.
Railway Recruitment Board Group D Result 2018
The result of the Computer Based Test will be published on September 2018 (Tentatively). It will be uploaded on the official website of Railway Recruitment Board. The candidates will be able to check it from there, after putting their roll number or other valid details.
RRB Online Test Cut Off Marks 2018
Each candidate appearing in the CBT must secure minimum qualifying marks. RRB has declared the minimum cut off marks of CBT as 40% for the General category and 30% for the Reserved category candidates like OBC, SC, ST. Successfully qualifying in PET is also mandatory.
